These are very busy times for Marnicq Bervoets. The former GP motocross rider (19 GP wins) was a contender for weeks in Belgian TV Show “Eeuwige Roem” (Everlasting Glory) which pitches former sport stars against each other in a series of grueling tests. Last week Bervoets became the proud father of baby boy Jarne, his first child. Barely a week later he was checking over the team’s last details before their imminent departure to Faenza when we caught up with him. After months of preparation things finally get serious this weekend. Marnicq looks forward to Faenza and tells us about his expectations for the team’s riders, Clément Desalle (MX1) and Dennis Verbruggen (MX2).
LS Motors-Honda sports manager Bervoets says: "Clément Desalle winning the overall during the Grobbendonk International race was a dream start to the season. The whole team got a very good feeling right away. Nobody would have betted on Clément to win it, bit he snatched the two heat wins from underneath the factory riders’ noses. Clément didn’t do any races between the International in Valence and the first GP in Faenza. That could turn out to be a mistake. But at the same time the competition has no clue at all to where he is form wise. We talked it through but at the end of the day it’s Clément’s own call. He knows is body best. I hopes he is right.”
